On the 29th June, I was invited, along with the Go! Southampton team, to go up and dine in the sky. Never thought that I would have the opportunity to experience fine dining 100ft off the ground.
The experience was right in the city centre at the Guildhall Square. As we arrived we were welcomed with complimentary drinks, magic and music. This year they had a circus-themed waiting area. The perfect environment to prepare for the flight.
I must admit I was nervous. I do alright with heights but I tend to be secured with a harness and a belayers holding me tight. Although we had chairs with harnesses there was no rock to hold on to this time.
As soon as we departed I felt a lot calmer. The weather was great and view gorgeous. Our chef, Jamie Thompson, prepared a menu to die for. I chose the Spring Green Risotto and Strawberries with cream. It was absolutely delicious.
I had a lot of fun, and I’m so glad I got to do it.
